Sea of Life mobilizes a network of partners from global experts to local enthusiasts to develop communities of practice. We educate, train, and collaborate on solutions solve some of the most pressing issues facing the sea and people within the Caribbean. Check out our International Women in Conservation Summit which connects women in a global community of practice.

Community Building

Our team works with local partners to educate, identify and pilot entrepreneurial conservation ideas. Sea of Life provides boots on the ground project development and management to co-lead projects to success. In time local partners can flourish on their own and remain connected to a Caribbean wide network of other local enterprises. One of our approaches to this is the Plastic Solutions Academy.

Entrepreneurial Conservation

Culture, Pride, and Faith

In the Caribbean, the oceans provide cultural, commercial, recreational, and spiritual value. Sea of Life honors this by centering culture, history, faith and mindfulness into conservation and stewardship of the sea. Fishermen like Jordan Lopez, from Caye Caulker, rely on the sea for their livelihoods and their wellness. He is passing his love and knowledge on to his son to continue this bountiful sea of life.

It’s important for fishers and local communities to have a voice in the local decision making process. The Sea of Life model allows community stewards to gain the skills needed to make the positive changes they wish to see in their communities by putting people first.
